Rec Soccer Information Zone
Everything your family needs for the [FALL 2026] recreation season, from the first practice to the final whistle.
What families need to know
Schedules & the PlayMetrics app
- Practice and game schedules live in the PlayMetrics app. Download it and log in with your registration email.
- Turn on notifications so you see time and field changes right away.
- Games are played on [DAY(S)]; practice days are set by each coach.
Fields & field status
- Rec games are played at fields across Arlington. Check the field name in your schedule before you leave home.
- Park only in marked spaces and follow posted rules at each site.
- Field closures are posted at [FIELD STATUS SOURCE].
Weather & cancellations
- If you hear thunder or see lightning, everyone leaves the field and waits in a car or building. Play resumes [30] minutes after the last strike.
- Cancellations are announced by [TIME] through the app and email.
- Rained-out games [ARE / ARE NOT] rescheduled.
Uniforms & gear
- Shin guards are required at every practice and game, fully covered by socks.
- Ball size: size 3 for U8 and younger, size 4 for U9–U12, size 5 for U13 and up.
- No jewelry on the field, and no metal-studded cleats.
Coaches & team communication
- Rec teams are led by volunteer parent coaches. Your coach will contact you within [X DAYS] of team assignments.
- Haven't heard from your coach? Email the rec office and we'll connect you.
- Tell your coach ahead of time if your player will miss a game.
How games work
- Younger age groups play small-sided games so every player gets more touches on the ball.
- Field size, team size, and game length grow with each age group.
- Every player gets meaningful playing time. That's the rec promise.
Sideline conduct & referees
- Many of our referees are teenagers learning the game. Please treat them with respect, win or lose.
- Cheer for effort, let coaches coach, and stay on the spectator side of the field.
- All families agree to ASA's Code of Conduct at registration.
Injuries & player safety
- Suspect a head injury? When in doubt, sit them out. A player with a possible concussion doesn't return to play that day.
- Let your coach know about any injury, even a minor one.
- Safety concerns can be reported confidentially at any time.
Refunds & financial aid
- Refund requests are accepted until [DATE]. [REFUND TERMS].
- No child should miss out because of cost. Financial aid is available for rec soccer.
