Where Every Soccer Journey Begins
The Arlington Soccer Kinders Program is dedicated to supporting both kindergarten players and coaches within the Recreational Program, with a strong emphasis on skill development, confidence-building, and fun. As part of the Arlington Soccer Futures initiative — launched in Fall 2021 and presented by Virginia529 — the Kinders Program provides a positive and structured introduction to the game for kindergarten-aged players.
Through this program, players are introduced to a long-term development pathway that helps prepare them for future levels within Arlington Soccer. Support from dedicated volunteers and parents has helped Arlington Soccer Association remain a cornerstone of the community for more than 50 years.

- Format: 4 v 4 (No Goalkeeper)
- Age-appropriate field sizes and rules designed for kindergarten-level development

Professional Coaching Staff

Volunteer Coaches
Community-driven- Parent and community volunteers lead each team with one head coach and one assistant

- Arlington Soccer provides guidance and educational resources for all volunteer coaches
- Especially beneficial for coaches new to the game
Volunteer Milestone: John Mingus, a longtime coach who began volunteering when his daughter joined the recreational program in 2001, reached an incredible milestone in Spring 2026 — coaching his 1,000th game. He was also named the 2020 National Volunteer of the Year by US Youth Soccer.

Program Philosophy
The Kinders Program is designed to build a strong foundation from the very beginning. By combining the passion of volunteer coaches with professional staff expertise, the program creates an environment where young players feel supported, engaged, and excited about soccer.
This collaborative model strengthens both the player experience and coach confidence — especially for those new to coaching.

Parent/Guardian Requirement
A parent or guardian must remain on the premises during all Kinders Program sessions. Parents are encouraged to participate and interact with their young player throughout the session.
