Coach of the Month - October 2026

Coach Matthew Goodwin

Matthew Goodwin is a wonderful example of the next generation of coaches at Arlington Soccer. A former player who developed his skills playing youth soccer in Arlington, Matthew has come full circle, returning to the club as a coach after previously serving as an assistant coach. Now in his first year as a head coach, he is embracing the opportunity with enthusiasm, dedication, and a genuine passion for helping players grow.

As a young coach, Matthew has already demonstrated tremendous potential. He is eager to learn, open to new ideas, and committed to continually developing his coaching skills. His passion for the game shines through in the way he works with his players, while his clear, consistent communication during practices and games helps create an environment where players understand expectations, feel supported, and are encouraged to improve.

Matthew’s journey from player to coach makes his story especially meaningful. Having experienced Arlington Soccer as a player, he now has the opportunity to give back to the same community that helped shape his soccer journey. His willingness to learn, build relationships with players, and bring energy and commitment to every session reflects the qualities of a coach with a bright future ahead.

Director of Coaching Mo Tayari shared, “It’s great to see one of our own players pursue his coaching journey with us. We enjoyed having Matthew as a player, and we’re excited to now have him as part of our coaching staff. He has a real passion for working with players, communicates clearly, and is always looking to learn and improve. He has a lot of potential as a coach, and we’re happy to support him as he continues to grow and develop within our club."

Congratulations to Matthew Goodwin on being named Coach of the Month! We’re proud to see him continue his journey with Arlington Soccer and look forward to watching him grow as a coach while making a lasting, positive impact on our players and club.
