In Memory of Mac Brown

Husband, father, grandfather, friend, and longtime leader of the Northwest Arlington Lions Club

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mac Brown, who died peacefully surrounded by his family.

Mac was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, friend, and community leader. For more than 20 years, he poured his time, energy, and heart into the Northwest Arlington Lions Club, helping grow the organization from approximately 160 young players to more than 650.

To Mac, the Lions were about far more than soccer. He believed deeply in the importance of giving children a place to play, compete, learn, and grow. He worked tirelessly to make that vision a reality, and his efforts helped contribute to the development of new athletic facilities in Arlington County, including what became known as the North Tract Project.

Mac took enormous pride in the young people and families who came through the Lions program. His commitment left a lasting mark on Arlington's sports community and on the many generations of players and families who benefited from his work.

He cared about the details. He cared about the fields. And most of all, he cared about the kids.

His family knows that Mac's impact cannot be measured simply by the number of players or fields. It can be seen in the friendships formed, the lessons learned, the opportunities created, and the community he helped build.

Mac is survived by his family, who will miss his determination, generosity, humor, and unwavering commitment to the things he believed mattered.

We are grateful for the many people whose lives Mac touched over the years, and we welcome those who knew him to share their memories and stories with us.

Mac gave a great deal to Arlington. We hope the community he loved will remember him for it.
