A Shared Responsibility
At times, emotions can run high. It is important to remember that negative behavior — including yelling at referees, coaches, or players, or engaging in verbal or physical confrontations — can have a lasting and harmful impact on a child’s sports experience.
Players Children who are still learning and developing — they need encouragement, not criticism.
Referees Often youth officials who are also learning the game — they deserve respect.
Coaches & Volunteers Working to support players’ growth — trust the process and the people involved.
Expectations
Spectator Expectations
We ask all parents and spectators to uphold the following standards at every Arlington Soccer event.

Encourage and support all players, not just your own child.

Cheer positively for the team without directing comments at individual players.

Respect the decisions of referees and coaches, even when you disagree.

Refrain from profanity or confrontations with other spectators.

Never enter the field of play without permission from the referee.

Keep the focus on development and enjoyment — not winning at all costs.

Together, we can ensure that every Arlington Soccer event provides a safe, positive, and rewarding experience for our players. Adult behavior on the sidelines can either enhance or detract from what happens on the field — the choice is ours.
