Mission & Purpose

The mission of ADP is to develop, administer, and promote a program that provides Arlington-area youth with the opportunity to acquire and strengthen their soccer skills through a higher level of competition and greater coaching expertise within a professional training environment.

Launched in Fall 2013, ADP bridges the gap between the recreational and travel programs offered by Arlington Soccer. It is designed for players seeking a higher level of development while maintaining a balanced commitment.

Program Goals

ADP is built around the following objectives:

• Provide boys and girls with soccer opportunities focused on skill development and game understanding in a professional training environment.
• Group players of similar abilities together for both practices and matches.
• Offer recreational players increased access to professional coaching while supplementing the training they receive on their recreational teams.

Player Development Focus

ADP emphasizes technical and tactical development within a structured and supportive environment. The program offers:

• A higher level of training and competition than recreational soccer
• Less financial, travel, and time commitment than travel soccer
• Professional and volunteer coaching support at both training sessions and matches
• Weekly training and weekend match play with players grouped by similar ability
• The social, physical, and cognitive development of each player are the priorities every season — not match results.

Age Groups & Structure

ADP serves U9, U10, and U11 boys and girls.

The ADP Director, along with professional and volunteer coaches, works with each team during the fall and spring seasons to provide an enjoyable and challenging learning environment. Each season includes:

• Ten (10) weeks of scheduled practices
• Eight (8) weekend matches
