Rosemary Herbert Storey was a resident of Arlington for nearly 50 years. Rosemary’s involvement with Arlington Soccer began in 1977 when she got her kids Pat and Amy playing for the Lions International club in the 7-8 year old age group with their cousins, Matthew, Andrew and Toby. As a full time working soccer mom she regularly got her kids to practices and urged them on during their many games. She decided to play herself in the early 80’s joining the Ramparts team as goalkeeper. Her love of the sport culminated in her involvement with DC United as a volunteer, managing half time kids activities on the field. During her life she was always a crusader for equal rights for all, regardless of race, class or gender.
With this fund we hope to honour Rosemary’s memory by raising funds that will provide support for girls soccer programs.
