  FALL SOCCER SEASON
COLUMBUS DAY SOCCER TOURNAMENT

Columbus Day Tournament, Arlington Soccer Association

Come one, come all!  ASA's second annual Columbus Day Soccer Tournament for recreational teams is fast approaching.

The Tournament will be played on Saturday and Sunday, October 6-7.

The Tournament gives recreational soccer players a tournament experience similar to that of travel soccer players, with each team assured of playing four games over two days.
  • Since there are no regularly scheduled ASA soccer games over that holiday weekend, it's the perfect opportunity for teams to hone their skills and have fun in a festive atmosphere.

  • As an added bonus, the Tournament is co-sponsored by DC United, which will provide each player with a free ticket to a DC United game.  Each player also gets a tournament t-shirt.
Columbus Day Recreational Soccer TournamentASA realizes that many Arlington families go out of town over the Columbus holiday weekend, leaving some teams short of players and others without coaches.  Not to worry, tournament rules allow players from multiple teams (in the same age group) to get together and form teams just for this Tournament.

If your team is not going, check with your Club Manager to see if there is another team that could use your child in the Tournament.  (Find your Club Manager on the Index of ASA Soccer Clubs.)
  • The Tournament will field up to 64 teams in the U8-U14 age groups, with both boys and girls divisions.
  • The cost is only $12 per player -- which includes the free DC United ticket and t-shirt.
  • The team registration deadline is Wednesday evening, September 26.
  • Team coaches or managers register their teams at the Tournament Registration Form.
The Tournament Committee can use volunteers to help with field set-up and other tournament issues.  Join us.  It's fun to help our youth soccer community.

If you can help, please call Bob Waffle, Tournament Coordinator, at 703-358-9448, or just email us at familynewsletter@arlingtonsoccer.com.
