2004 Girls Academy Team's Soccer United Against Hunger Food Drive Results
Our 2004 Girls Academy team were able to collect over 1,400 food items, including 1,751 pounds of food which is equivalent to $3,100! They were forced to make two trips to the Capital Area Food Bank due to the sheer amount of food they had collected. These ladies were able to demonstrate their passion and attitude in assisting our local communities through the means of this food drive. We are super proud of their efforts and wanted to recognize this huge accomplishment.
The Girls Academy Director, Nicci Wright, took notice and commented, "I'm beyond proud of our 2004 Girls Academy players, who worked tirelessly for weeks to reach and surpass their goal of collecting 1,000 items for the Capital Area Food Bank. Giving back to the community, particularly during this hard and difficult time for many families, is so important and it's a proud moment for me to watch these players providing support for those needing help. Way to go girls!"
