Please attend as many as you like; if you are coaching a kindergarten team, we offer a variety of times and dates to help ease transition into your very first soccer team. Please attend the one the suits your schedule best, or all of them!

This 4 hour course if offered by VYSA and has theory (classroom) and practical (field) sessions. United States Soccer Association ‘F’ Certificate

US Soccer offers an ‘F’ certificate which is the first license offered in the pathway towards higher certifications. This certificate is offered online, and there are no supplemental field sessions. This course is required to continue on the US Soccer Pathway.

Normally, the cost of the ‘F’ certificate is $25, but ASA has purchased “coupon codes” so you do not need to pay any money up front. To get a coupon code, please email the Recreational Soccer Director (

After you complete the course, please email a copy of your certificate to the Recreational Soccer Director for his records.

USSF ‘E’ and ‘D’ licenses

The USSF ‘E’ and ‘D’ licenses are for coaches who wish to continue through the US Soccer Federation pathway for coaching education. Coaches who wish to take these licenses must already hold the USSF prerequisite license (starting a a USSF ‘F’).

Training How to Head the Ball (6th grade and older)

Starting at 6th grade, Arlington Soccer players can begin to learn how to head the ball. ASA’s full heading policy can be found here. The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) has put together an excellent web series on how to teach heading in a safe environment, and is free. All you need to do is register with NSCAA (free). Highly recommended!
