Based in Colorado, the NSCD has traditionally offered a variety of both winter and summer programs in their home state. In the last two years however, the NSCD has focused on creating more programs across the nation through the AbilityCAMP model. AbilityCAMP is designed to be a one-day interactive camp that runs approximately 1 ½ -2 hours and is offered at no cost to participants.

The NSCD collaborates with community and therapeutic partners and professional sports franchises like the Kansas City Wizards. In 2005, the NSCD will deliver the AbilityCAMP program to 5 major cities throughout the country.

The National Sports Center for the Disabled is one of the largest outdoor therapeutic recreation organizations in the world. Each year thousands of individuals with disabilities take to the ski slopes, mountain trails, and golf links to learn more about sports and themselves. With specially trained staff and its own adaptive equipment lab, the NSCD teaches a variety of winter and summer sports to individuals with almost any mental or physical disability.
